Vehicle Access Sr. Engineer

Technology is going to disrupt the automotive industry significantly in the next decade and our organization is seeking high potential candidates to transform the company with a focus on the customer experience.Basic Scopes of work:Vehicle Access Development:Lead the design/development of the following Vehicle Access devices/systems: RF receiver modules, RF transmitter key fob, ignition start/stop button, digital key systemsValidate the interfaces with other vehicle componentsUtilize system design approaches to meet and improve the functional requirements of Vehicle Access systemsInterface with Tier-1 suppliers to track program timing and deliverablesSupport module validation for assigned hardware and softwareSupport manufacturing builds at both supplier facilities and Stellantis vehicle assembly plantsMeet all vehicle program milestones and conduct all releasing processes within Stellantis related to the component and its interface within the vehicleRegulatory / Certifications:Support the Vehicle Development team with certifications and compliance for owned componentsCAD/Packaging:Support the module development teams in packaging their modules with multiple vehicle linesLocate modules in vehicle, understand and communicate conflicts to module engineers & vehicle designersBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineA minimum of 8 years of experience in Vehicle Access component development & releasingExpertise in CAN, LIN, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), NFC, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologiesVector CAN tools (CANalyzer or CANoe) related to CAN/CAN-FD vehicle bus networking protocolsFamiliarity with encryption algorithms, secure key management, and authentication protocols. Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 and related automotive cybersecurity standards. Reading and interpreting Electrical Engineering schematics and system level block diagramsExperience with vehicle level validationReviewing software code and test methods/reportsIdentifying the gaps that reduce system cost varying from component to process systemsExperience with product development of passive entry, passive start, Digital Key Systems, or Remote Key Entry (RKE)Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline10+ years of experience in Vehicle Access systems and component development & releasingProven track record in RF design and secure communication systemsKnowledge of digital key ecosystems and smartphone integration.
