Project Manager - Professional & Workforce Development Job Description The Project Manager is responsible for driving cross-departmental initiatives that advance organizational effectiveness, innovation, and growth. I. MAJOR FUNCTION

The Project Manager is responsible for driving cross-departmental initiatives that advance organizational effectiveness, innovation, and growth. This role plays a critical part in transforming how the Association operates, ensuring that projects not only meet immediate goals but also contribute to long-term impact, sustainability, and member value.

II. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Project Leadership & Execution: Lead and manage high-impact, cross-functional projects that support business transformation, operational excellence, and revenue growth. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities. Organizational Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong partnerships across departments, chapters, and leadership. Serve as a trusted liaison who brings stakeholders together, aligns priorities, and fosters a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared ownership. Navigating Complexity & Driving Solutions: Effectively manage complex, multi-layered projects by identifying interdependencies, mitigating risks, and resolving challenges. Translate complex organizational needs into structured plans and scalable solutions that drive efficiency and impact. Business Analysis & Process Optimization: Analyze workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, and define business and system requirements. Lead efforts to enhance processes, optimize technology use, and improve overall organizational performance. Performance Tracking, Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure project success and organizational impact. Ensure quality standards are met and continuously refine processes based on data, feedback, and evolving needs. Vendor & Resource Management: Support vendor evaluation, selection, and engagement processes. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure external solutions align with organizational goals, budget considerations, and long-term strategy.

III. MINIMUM WORK REQUIREMENTS

Skills Ability to navigate organizational complexity and drive results across diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage ambiguity. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage executive leadership and diverse audiences. Skilled facilitator and influencer with the ability to build consensus and resolve conflict. Strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic, big‑picture perspective. Knowledge Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. Masters preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana or similar). PMP certification is strongly preferred. Experience 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in a multi‑state organization. Experience in business process analysis, workflow documentation, and systems thinking. Demonstrated experience fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment. Experience translating business needs into effective operational and technical solutions. Prior experience leading cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated experience managing multiple, concurrent projects with competing priorities.
