Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector II inspects product or parts for work quality, dimensional accuracy, conformance to drawings, internal specifications, and customer-supplied specifications using precision measuring and testing instruments and equipment. This individual is responsible for handling the day-to-day shift inspections and all measurement tools.

Responsibilities:

• Reads inspection logs and quality plans to determine mature and sequence inspection.
• Performs basic functions such as locating part specific programming, following fixturing outlines, and taking basic digital readout measures
• Reviews blueprints and product quality plans to locate critical dimensions and cosmetic criteria used during inspection.
• Inspects parts and assemblies during all phases of fabrication and assembly to ensure adherence to cosmetic and dimensional specifications.?
• Measures parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments, templates, jigs, and fixtures.
• Accepts or rejects parts and assemblies, prepares documentation to record inspection results, and segregates unacceptable ??products.
• Confers with production and other personnel to coordinate the inspection process and to discuss inspection results.
• Inspects packaging of product to determine compliance with internal packaging instructions.
• Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring ??instruments and devices. Examine items for defects in materials, workmanship, and damage occurring in transit. Accepts or rejects purchased product, prepares documentation to record inspection results, and segregates ??unacceptable products.
• May prepare inspection procedure outlines for reference use in subsequent inspections using data obtained from blueprints, customer specifications, and catalogs.
• Assists machine operators in determining product quality conformance.
• Trains new and existing employees on tasks and product quality specific to each production item.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Provides information and suggestions for improvement of product, processes, and the quality management system.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations.
• Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

• Education/Learning Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year manufacturing experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASQ certification is a plus.
• Experience:
• Experience with hand tools - calipers, micrometers, height gages, and similar required.
• Understanding of basic blueprint reading required.
• Experience with vision systems (Keyence, OGP, Mitutoyo, and similar) required.
• Hours are 11:55 pm- 8:55 am Monday-Friday

• Skills/Knowledge:
• Language Skills: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to all employees of the organization. Ability to comprehend and comply with written and verbal procedures, instructions, and assignments. Ability to deal with situations involving several variables in standard manufacturing conditions. Ability to actively participate in group problem solving activities.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use ratios and percents. Ability to ??apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Work Environment and Reporting:
• Document Control Specialists will work in office settings with some time on the factory floor.
• The role often involves interaction with multiple departments, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, Human resources and will require strong interpersonal skills.?
• The role is critical for maintaining operational accuracy, regulatory readiness, and efficient document workflows.?
• Document Control Specialists differ from Records Managers in that they focus on active document lifecycle management, while Records Managers handle long-term archival and retention policies.?
• This position is essential for organizations seeking to maintain accurate, compliant, and accessible documentation, supporting audits, operational efficiency, and cross-department collaboration.
