MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Job Description: Musical Director Job Goal: Direct and oversee all aspects of the annual high school musical, including auditions, rehearsals, performances, and production coordination. Collaborate with staff, students, and volunteers to provide a high-quality theatrical experience while fostering student growth, creativity, teamwork, and adherence to district policies and budget guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the annual high school musical, including auditions, casting, rehearsals, and performances. Collaborate with the assistant director, vocal director, music conductor, choreographer, technical director, and production staff to ensure a cohesive, high-quality production. Develop and maintain a rehearsal schedule that promotes student success while minimizing conflicts with academic and extracurricular commitments. Supervise and mentor student performers, fostering growth in acting, professionalism, teamwork, and stage presence. Coordinate with school administration, faculty, and families regarding production logistics, expectations, and performance schedules. Oversee production budgets, scripts, costumes, props, and other resources in accordance with district policies and approved funding. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful rehearsal and performance environment that reflects district expectations and school values. Attend all required rehearsals, technical rehearsals, performances, and production meetings, and complete other duties necessary for a successful theatrical production.
