Pharmacy TechnicianScope of Responsibilities: Works under direct supervision of a pharmacist. Follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department. Responsible for assisting the supervising pharmacist with the training and development of staff, assigning tasks to ensure workload is balanced and completed. Ensures consistent application of organizational policies.Job Summary: Assist the professional staff in the triaging, processing and delivery of prescriptions to the patient. Assist in the management of the Pharmacy Inventory and Third Party Receivables. Assists in the hiring and training of new employees. Assists the pharmacist in proper inventory management.ResponsibilitiesJob Duties:answering telephonesIntermediate to advanced understanding of pharmacy technology – included is product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication workflow stepsInventory management – proficient in inventory management including ordering & receiving processes, inventory freshness; proficient with return to stocks and cycle countingRegulatory & Operational Compliance – Proficient in all state and federal regulations ensuring compliance with the law; understands and ensures we follow company operational policies & proceduresExecutes the plan – able to learn and understand specific aspects of the pharmacy management system (i.e., reception and release to patient queues) as well as our POS system; follows instructions and completes tasks with a sense of urgency; responsible for daily department standardsQuality focused – understands and embraces the importance of our Quality Assurance Policy & Procedures; understands and embraces all patient care programs and initiatives; understands and embraces all policies and procedures; accuracy with cash and related cash controlsEnsure that every prescription has been checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing to the patientAssist in the initial submission, and resubmission (as required) of all third party claimsLocating prescription files and other manual records from storage as neededPrepare and file manual records for pharmacist signatures and reviewPerform other duties as assignedAssist and oversee all aspects of pharmacy workflow (Data Entry to Customer Pickup)Ensures all pharmacy staff provides quality customer serviceMust stay current with all State and Federal requirements as well as corporate goals and initiativesResponsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programsAssists the supervising pharmacist with monitoring and reporting quality assurance eventsAssists the supervising pharmacist with pharmacy inventory tasks such as returns, outdates, and transmission and receiving of all orders from our supplierQualificationsEducational Requirements:Minimum: High School Diploma (or currently enrolled) or GEDPreferred: AS Degree or Higher RequiredVermont Employees: Registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician Experience:Preferred: Hospital or retail pharmacy experienceSpecial Conditions of Employment:Drug testInitial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoringAny and all additional eligibility requirements based on the specific positionCompensation:$20.00 - 23.00 an hourThe final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.KPH Healthcare Services, Inc. is a multistate organization and abides by all local, state and federal regulations as it pertains to minimum wage requirements.
