Job Overview At Boston Medical Center Brighton, nurses advance professional practice and deliver evidence‑based care across our units. This role supports 24/7 clinical excellence in the Med/Surge Float Pool, caring for adult medical and surgical populations and enhancing med‑surge skills. Position Details Position: Registered Nurse | Location: Float Pool | Schedule: 36 hours per week. Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education. Communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records. Enter and interpret computerized data and information. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS nursing organization. Assist leadership in quality improvement projects as needed. Requirements Licensed to practice RN in Massachusetts. 1+ years of RN experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required in certain units. Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus.
