Akerman Ip Docketing SpecialistFounded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the nation's premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers across the United States.Akerman is seeking a full-time Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Specialist to provide timely and effective docketing and administrative support to the Intellectual Property Group.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Review, docket and distribute a high volume of incoming correspondence from the USPTO, WIPO and foreign associates according to established proceduresReview and update docket based on USPTO filing receipts, WIPO confirmations, and correspondence from foreign associates according to established proceduresUpdate docket based on docket answers/instructions received from attorneys and paralegalsMonitor daily docket to ensure all deadlines are metPerform monthly status check of pending US patent applicationsRespond to internal inquiries; generate reports as needed by the IP groupSave correspondence in document management system to maintain electronic filesRequired Skills Include:Working knowledge of US and International patent and trademark prosecution processes and their associated rules and proceduresAnalytical reasoning skills and ability to interpret rules and instructions accuratelyExcellent organizational and follow-up skillsComfortable and efficient at calculating datesDetail oriented; ability to perform routine tasks and maintain concentration for long period of time.Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work; excellent proofreading skills.Proficient with MS Office applications6+ years intellectual property experience in a law firm or legal services environmentPrior IP docketing experience required.Prior IP docketing experience using Foundation IP docketing system.Undergraduate degree preferredWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package.
