Position Overview The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in the Bachelor's degree in Human Services Management and Leadership. Candidates should be enthusiastic about teaching and student success. Positions will begin in the Fall 2026 semester. Courses Represented Human Services Management and Leadership Gerontology Alternative Dispute Resolution Substance Abuse Treatment Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching area, including Social Work, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Nonprofit Management, Mediation, Counseling Education, Public Administration, or related educational programs. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. State certification or licensing in the subject matter where required. Experience in online/hybrid instruction. Proven teaching excellence in undergraduate instruction. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: Human services management principles, practices, and ethical standards. Leadership theories and their application in human services settings. Diverse populations and culturally responsive teaching methods. Current trends and issues in the human services field. CSHSE (Council on Standards for Human Services Education) standards. Skills: Instructional design and course development. Use of learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.). Facilitation of online, hybrid, and face‑to‑face instruction. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong interpersonal skills and mentoring diverse student populations. Educational technology and digital learning tools. Abilities: Create inclusive and supportive learning environments. Assess student learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet academic demands. Integrate real‑world human services experience into instruction. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Social Work, Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Nonprofit Management, or related educational program. Terminal degree in the specific discipline or a closely related discipline. Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate courses. Significant pedagogical knowledge and course development. Academic experience working with a culturally diverse student, staff, and faculty community. Knowledge of CSHSE. Bilingual skills a plus.
