Role Description The Buyer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the Rochester, New York Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing electronic components, mechanical parts, and related materials required for circuit board and electro‑mechanical assemblies. Day‑to‑day tasks include issuing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and monitoring delivery schedules to support production needs. The Buyer will track inventory levels, coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve material issues, and address any shortages or quality concerns with vendors. This role also involves maintaining accurate purchasing records, updating ERP or purchasing systems, and supporting cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain for electronics, printed circuit boards, or electro‑mechanical assemblies. Strong skills in supplier sourcing, vendor negotiation, and contract or pricing discussions. Proficiency with ERP or MRP systems, purchase order management, and basic data analysis in spreadsheets. Knowledge of inventory control, lead times, and demand planning in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), part specifications, and technical documentation. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across production, engineering, and quality teams. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines. Prior experience in contract manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or similar industrial settings is preferred.
