As an APRN in the Wound Center, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You'll utilize strong clinical judgment and communication skills to manage complex cases and ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive patient assessments for acute and chronic wound conditions
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
- Managing complex wound care cases, including diabetic ulcers and surgical wounds
- Promoting optimal healing outcomes through evidence-based practice
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring continuity of care
Education:
- Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing required
- Graduate of an accredited advanced practice nursing program required
- Five years of clinical nursing experience required
- Prior wound care experience preferred
- Knowledge of advanced professional nursing theory, scope of practice standards, and legal/regulatory requirements for advanced practice nursing
- In-depth understanding of evidence-based practice and its application to patient care
- Knowledge of current nursing research design, implementation, and evaluation within the specialty area
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacology
- High level of skill in utilizing appropriate oral and written communication with clients, physicians, nurses, and other staff
- Expert skill in diagnosis and treatment of individuals, families or communities, including but not limited to interviewing and counseling clients
- Current APRN licensure in the State of Kansas required (in good standing)
- Current registered nurse license in good standing in the State of Kansas
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
