The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting within OptumRx Mail Service/Digital Pharmacies. The role will be heavily partnered with team members, leadership, and other functional partners throughout the organization. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:This role manages key accounting functions, including monthly pre-close and close processes, revenue and COGS recognition, inventory costing, Intercompany transactions, and other Gross Margin reportingThe position also provides leadership and development for a team of direct reportsDevelop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practicesDevelop and maintain internal control structure, risk assessment and procedures for financial reportingResolve high level financial reporting issuesAssists in the monthly review of financial results; providing direction to peers and team membersMonthly analysis of P&L with variance commentaryDevelop and process journal entries; revenue/expense accruals and activityReview monthly balance sheet reconciliationsSupports Acquisition Cost Plus Client reconciliation and reportingAssist in development and documentation of processing efficienciesSupport various projects as neededYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or equivalent field5+ years of relevant and progressive financial analysis and solid analytic experienceExperience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlinesIntermediate level of working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisionsProven intermediate level of proficiency with ExcelProven excellent written and oral communication skills; solid executive presencePreferred Qualifications:Supervisory experienceHyperion Essbase, Oracleand PeopleSoft experiencePowerBI experienceAdvanced excel and database management*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
