Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized critical care nursing services in the ICU for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. Ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care through skilled assessments, interventions, and monitoring. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and titrate critical drips including vasopressors, sedatives, and antiarrhythmic medications.
• Monitor and interpret invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic data to manage critically ill patients effectively.
• Assess patient conditions continuously, identifying changes that require intervention.
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
• Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with two or more years of critical care nursing experience, specifically in ICU settings.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC preferred.
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, ventilator management, and titration of critical drips.
• Proficient in invasive procedures like lumbar drains, vascular access, and titration of medications such as Levophed and Heparin.
• Travel experience required; ability to float to stepdown, Med-Surg, or Telemetry units as needed.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
