Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for tenants, addressing questions, concerns, and requests for assistance.
• Build positive relationships with residents and promote a welcoming, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Assess tenant needs and connect residents with appropriate community resources, including healthcare, mental health services, benefits assistance, food programs, and other social services.
• Assist residents with accessing public benefits, housing-related resources, and community support programs.
• Coordinate tenant activities, workshops, community meetings, and resident engagement initiatives.
• Provide information and referrals to help residents maintain housing stability and improve overall well-being.
• Work collaboratively with property management, social service agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
• Assist with identifying and addressing resident concerns, escalating complex issues to the appropriate staff when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, referrals, services provided, and follow-up activities.
• Conduct resident outreach and follow up to ensure tenants are aware of available services and resources.
• Support conflict resolution and help address tenant concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
• Assist with organizing community events and programs that encourage resident participation and social connection.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the residential community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, or Psychology required
• Previous experience in tenant services, resident services, social services, case management, community outreach, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income individuals, seniors, families, or individuals experiencing housing instability, is a plus.

Professional Growth & Team Contribution • Participate in meetings and workshops that enhance professional skills, as assigned by Program Director and Education Specialist, including required hours of training per year; completion of one-hour training requirements covering mental health awareness, engagement and de-escalation, crisis response protocols and mental health resources. • Demonstrate openness to feedback, reflection, and learning to strengthen professional practice. • Contribute positively to team culture through collaboration, flexibility, and shared responsibility. • Demonstrate initiative and commitment to personal and professional growth. Professional Responsibility, Documentation & Program Operations • Adhere to site-specific memoranda and program staff manual which includes staff and program specific requirements as prescribed by the NYS Child School Aged Child Care (SACC) Programs regulation in a proactive manner, making the provision of quality services and the safety and care of all children the primary focus. • Demonstrate professionalism through consistent attendance, punctuality, preparedness, and follow-through. • Take ownership of assigned groups, activities, materials, and responsibilities to ensure high-quality implementation and participant experiences. • Complete attendance records, incident reports, activity logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time. • Communicate participant concerns, operational needs, and program updates to leadership and colleagues in a timely manner. • Adhere to agency policies, program procedures, reporting protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements while exercising appropriate decision-making within the scope of the role. • Recognize that personal attendance, punctuality, and performance directly impact participant safety, staffing ratios, program quality, and regulatory compliance, and takes responsibility for minimizing disruptions to program operations.
