About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must have oncology experience. Sickle cell experience and chemotherapy certification are preferred but not required. Must have EPIC experience. Must be able to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Must have the ability to read and interpret strips. Experience in a 1:5 patient ratio is required for consideration. Description: The role involves working in a 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients. This unit has mixed acuity, seeing both medical-surgical and advanced care patients. The workload includes managing patients receiving blood products and chemotherapy while handling various procedures, including drips, patient-controlled analgesia, and wound care. RNs with ONS Certification are responsible for administering chemotherapy. The targeted patient ratios are typically 1:4 but can range up to 1:5-6 depending on acuity. The position requires floating to all stepdown and advanced care units as needed. Travelers will be the first to float based on the discretion of the unit. The position requires availability to work every other weekend and holiday. Travelers may be assigned to provide nursing care for high-risk patients, including those requiring respiratory support. References are not required for application. Nursing licenses from any state are acceptable. Travelers must comply with local regulations and job requirements to be eligible for this position.
