Youth Residential Worker

** $4,000 SIGN ON BONUS! **

Full Time | Evening and Night Shifts

Pay: $17/hour

As a Youth Residential Worker , you will provide direct care, case management, and residential treatment services to children in a home-like setting. You will play a key role in supporting youth with emotional and/or behavioral challenges by helping them build life skills, maintain daily routines, and develop positive coping strategies.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

What will I do as a Youth Residential Worker with Genacross?

• Supervise, engage, and positively interact with youth in a safe, supportive environment
• Develop and implement behavioral programming tailored to each resident
• Accurately document daily observations, behaviors, and social interactions
• Assist with activities of daily living such as hygiene, meals, and self-care
• Teach social skills and independent living skills
• Provide coping strategies to help prevent crisis situations
• De-escalate situations verbally and utilize approved physical intervention only when necessary
• Plan and participate in recreational activities (games, crafts, sports, etc.)
• Perform household duties including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living space
• Attend treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and required trainings
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure continuity of care
• Follow trauma-informed care practices in all interactions
• Provide shift coverage as needed, including emergencies

Schedule & Flexibility :

• We offer a variety of scheduling options depending on location.
• Opportunities to pick up additional shifts.
• Employees who pick up shifts beyond 40 hours are eligible for additional pick-up pay.

Youth Residential Worker Requirements :

• High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid driver's license required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for working with children
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
• Must pass all background screening requirements
