Junior Estimator - Cabinetry, countertops and furniture

Job Summary: This is an opportunity for an intellectually sharp and detailed-oriented individual with at least 1 year of experience in a professional woodwork, cabinetry or construction environment. The successful candidate will perform assignments specific to millwork projects, estimating duties necessary to support the Senior Level Estimator and help the company to pursue quality work. This position will offer mentoring and training by Senior Level Estimator and Project Managers with the hands-on responsibility to grow professionally, learn the necessary know-how and understand the estimating/quoting process.   

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist the Senior Estimators in winning bids. 
• Ability to review data and documents like architectural plans, specifications, and Quotes. 
• Review project documents and understand well enough to define scope of work to bid. 
• Solicit quotes from vendors and or subcontractors. 
• Informs the immediate manager of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.  
• Working with estimating team to submit final bids. 
• Preparing documents for presentation to teammates for engineering and production and assisting with handoff upon project award. Organizing files per companies file structure and updating business systems like Salesforce. 
• Attends departmental meetings as required. 
• Assist the Senior Estimators by providing accurate takeoffs of millwork and stone countertop scope items. 
• Utilizes Excel, MS Word, Google Suites, and PlanSwift Takeoff Software.. 
• Ability to read architectural Blueprints and Scales. 
• Coordinate with customers to request information via RFI as well as follow up on opportunity status until decisions are close to being made on the project. Bring in and/or turn over Senior Estimator, or sales person as required and when prudent to close a deal. 

Requirements: 

• At least one year of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Basic Construction knowledge  
• Proficient mathematical skills 
• Attention to detail 
• Collaboration and Communication skills 
• Ethical conduct 
• Excellent time management and organizational skills 
• Proficient in using computer applications such as MS office especially excel, Plan Swift or other on screen take off system.
