Job Description
This role will involve organizing and prioritizing preparation of food items, preparing food according to standardized recipes, ensuring proper size and weight of food portions, coordinating food preparation with other kitchen staff, maintaining line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area throughout shift, following standard recipes regarding presentation of food items, preparing plate presentation pursuant to standard recipes, cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and walk-in cooler, ensuring that kitchen area, including grill, oven, stoves, etc. remain clean and free of hazards during shift, keeping floor clean and free of food items, trash, or other obstacles, maintaining Koko's Bavarian safety and sanitation standards, preparing kitchen equipment and setting up station for shift, ensuring proper rotation of all food items, including the lifting/moving of food bins weighing up to 50lbs, performing all opening and closing duties, understanding Sanitation and Safety compliance, and assisting Kitchen teammates as needed.
Required Skills
Required skills include valid Health Department Food Handler Certification, knowledge of high-volume kitchen operations, ability to inspect food spoilage and proper rotation, kitchen sanitation, prep work, expediting knowledge, skills in use of all kitchen equipment, ability to follow standardized recipes and plate presentation, ability to maintain the pace of a high-volume kitchen, proper sanitation knowledge, kitchen and restaurant operations, and attention to detail. High School Diploma is also required.
Physical Demands/Working Environment
The working environment is fast-paced. The position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
