Project Engineer

Description: The 1LMX Enterprise Classified Portfolio is looking for a dynamic Project Engineer to drive the planning, coordination, and execution of software deployments, data‑engineered processes, and cross‑functional integration initiatives within secure, air‑gapped environments. In this role you will partner closely with business owners, functional subject‑matter experts, and the Lockheed Martin Classified IT Transformation Organization to deliver 1LMX solutions on schedule, within budget, and to the highest security standards.

This position offers a high‑visibility platform to shape a enterprise‑wide transformation, deepen expertise in classified systems engineering, and collaborate with a diverse network of functional and technical stakeholders across Lockheed Martin.
Basic Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of hands on project management experience on large scale application implementations or consolidations.
• Working knowledge of air gapped, classified environments and the related systems engineering and technology considerations.
• Experience governing cross functional integration tasks and coordinating multiple value streams toward a common solution.
• Control Account Manager 101 certification (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and the ability to track cost schedule performance.
• Experience preparing programmatic data and Earned Value reports for executive level audiences (briefings, dashboards, status updates).
• Proficiency with Jira for issue tracking and project management workflows, and with Hive for data querying/analysis.
• Proven ability to deliver deadline driven projects with sizable, distributed teams.
• Strong organizational skills; capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior business and technical audiences.
Desired Skills:
• Experience supporting software‑deployment processes in air‑gapped, classified environments (packaging, verification, compliance).
• Proven ability to facilitate functional‑process discussions and create models using Signavio or similar tools.
• Hands‑on experience with interface design and documentation in enterprise architecture tools such as LeanIX.
• Direct experience supporting a Lockheed Martin Business Area – strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with, or prior support of, the Lockheed Martin 1LMX Program and regular interaction with the Lockheed Martin Classified IT Transformation Organization.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $80,600 - $139,840. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
