You will be part of the Fraud Protection group, building solutions for merchants to protect themselves against fraudulent behavior. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.Job responsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersMonitor and collect performance statistics, analyzing product performance and scalability across diverse hardware, software, and configurationsServe as performance advisors within teams to ensure performance considerations are integrated into development practices, optimizing infrastructure scalabilityInfluence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teamsProactively anticipate and identify issues that could negatively impact performance, working to eliminate or mitigate themPlan and develop methodologies for standard performance benchmarks and comparisonsDesign, develop, and implement tools to automate performance measurement and analysisDrives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the teamApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automationRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceDemonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and securityStrong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practicesHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced hands on development experience in Java, Spring boot, MicroservicesExperience with AWS Services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, EC2, Kafka, NLBExperience with Databases Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityExperience working with AI agents/copilots for engineering In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsStrong enterprise architecture design concepts to allow for unified user experience leveraging data sharing capabilities with API, KafkaCase management workflow and orchestration to serve as the backbone of a unified user experience across multiple cross-functional teamsVibe coding experience and conceptual knowledge while leveraging developer assistant tools like GitHub Copilot to allow for efficiency gains JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
