This role offers hands?on ownership of embedded systems that directly control sophisticated robotic and electromechanical systems used globally.Your ImpactDesign, develop, and maintain real?time, multithreaded embedded software in C/C++Implement low?level control software for robotic and motion?control subsystemsApply test?driven development and unit testing using frameworks such as Google TestContribute to CI pipelines and automated build and test environmentsEnsure software documentation, traceability, and compliance within a regulated medical environmentParticipate actively in agile development including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectivesCollaborate effectively with hardware, systems, verification, and quality teams across time zonesWhy This Role Is Exciting?Deep, hands?on embedded development close to hardware and roboticsAutonomy and technical ownership without people?management responsibilitiesOpportunity to work on next?generation laboratory automation systemsEngineering culture focused on disciplined design, testing, and qualityDirect impact on medical diagnostics and patient careA senior engineering professional who independently applies advanced engineering knowledge to complete complex assignments, who leads the design and development of complex software code, unit tests and integration tests for a subsystem.Required QualificationsBachelors Degree 8 or more years of related experience. or a Masters Degree and 6+ years of related experienceExpert experience in designing and developing complex software systems.Demonstrated ability in providing guidance to junior team members.Expert knowledge in modern programming languages such as C/C++/C# or Python & agile methodologies.Expert level of understanding of test-driven methodologiesExpert level of knowledge with continuous integration & continuous development (CI/CD)Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to develop & design at the feature-level.Expert level understanding of design patterns.Ability to travel 10% to the EU for work purposes.Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.Preferred QualificationsStrong proficiency in C and C++ applied to embedded systems developmentExperience developing real?time, multithreaded embedded applications on an RTOS (e.g., ThreadX or similar)Experience with embedded robotic or electromechanical control systemsFamiliarity with embedded communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART)Experience with unit testing and test?driven development methodologiesWorking experience with continuous integration environmentsProficiency with Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests, and code reviewsExperience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and ConfluenceThe base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
