About the Position

Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: One previous successful travel nursing assignment 30 months RN or LPN nursing experience Ability to care for 6 telemetry patients or post-cardiac procedures Proficient in reading telemetry strips Time management skills including planning of care every shift Collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments Experience in discharge planning and patient education Description: Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. The expectation is to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. The unit has 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6 for RNs. The type of equipment includes mobile phones for each care team member, mobile computer workstation on wheels, mobilab for lab drawers, and Alaris IV pumps. Documentation system used is Meditech. The traveler must complete 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend. The floating policy states that travelers are the first to float and may be sent to care for inpatients in the emergency department or telemetry monitoring room. The patient experience requirement includes bedside shift report for handoffs and adherence to AIDET and RN/MD rounding. Advanced skills required include phlebotomy, administering respiratory treatments outside of the ICU, foley catheter care, and managing cardiac drips. Relevant procedures performed on the unit must be addressed. The work environment promotes supportive management, emphasis on teamwork, and work-life balance.
