Our organization is actively seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join our team.

Located across three campuses in the Boston metropolitan area, our facility boasts 467 beds. The radiology department operates without film and offers tele-radiology services to various other facilities within the VA New England Healthcare System. Our advanced equipment includes two 3T MRI scanners, a 1.5T MRI scanner, four multidetector CT scanners, PET/CT, and a comprehensive range of ultrasound and radiographic/fluoroscopic devices. Additionally, we have a dedicated women's imaging suite featuring digital mammography, breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and bone density assessments, along with two interventional radiology suites. One of these is equipped with a fixed C-arm with cone beam technology and other sophisticated features, while the second is a newly integrated CT/C-arm room, the first of its kind in Massachusetts at the time of installation.

We are looking for an Interventional Radiologist with a broad range of skills, including both vascular procedures (such as Y-90, dialysis access, PAE, GI bleeds, and endoleaks) and non-vascular interventions (including microwave ablation, biliary procedures, urinary interventions, biopsies, and drain placements).

Our organization has affiliations with Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine, allowing for potential appointments at either institution. The Radiology residency program collaborates with Boston Medical Center, making resident education and research key components of our department's mission.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.

• A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from a medical or osteopathic school recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year of completion is required.

• A current, unrestricted medical or surgical license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or Commonwealth, including the District of Columbia, is necessary.

• Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program leading to board certification eligibility is mandatory. Note: VA physicians involved in academic training may need to be board certified for faculty positions. Approved residency pathways include:

  • (1) Programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) as listed for the year of completion; OR

  • (2) One year of post-medical school training (internship, first-year residency, or transitional year residency) approved by ACGME or AOA, followed by two years of independent practice in the U.S. under a full and unrestricted license; OR

  • (3) Non-U.S. residency training followed by at least three years of verified independent practice in the U.S. (with duties related to the position applied for), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems appropriate for professional training and patient care experience.

• Additional Requirement:

  • Completion of a fellowship in Interventional Radiology is required.

  • ABR board certification or eligibility is mandatory.

• Compensation: Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).
• Retirement: Traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period and a federal 401K plan with contributions up to 5% from the organization.
