Job Opportunity: Staff Radiologist

Our organization is currently in search of a dedicated, full-time Staff Radiologist to deliver comprehensive Diagnostic Radiology services to our Veterans.

• Provide a wide range of diagnostic radiology services, including but not limited to body imaging.
• Interpret various nuclear medicine studies, including general nuclear medicine, cardiac studies, and PET/CT scans.
• Administer therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, such as I-131 sodium iodide, Ra-223 dichloride, and Y-90 microspheres.
• Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, collaborating with the radiation safety officer and chief nuclear medicine technologist.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including CT, MRI, and ultrasound.

Our facility, with a capacity of 467 beds, spans three campuses within the Boston metropolitan area. The nuclear medicine division operates under the Radiology department and is equipped with three SPECT-CT cameras and a PET-CT scanner. We also provide tele-radiology services for PET-CT and cardiac nuclear studies to several other facilities within the VA New England Healthcare System, along with accepting referrals for therapeutic treatments.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.
• A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Possession of a current, unrestricted medical or surgical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program, leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Additional requirement: Certification from the American Board of Radiology.
• Preferred: Certification from the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.

Physicians currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency programs may qualify as 'Physician Resident Providers' (PRPs), provided they hold a full medical license. PRPs will not be considered independent practitioners and will work under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be eligible for PRP appointments.

• Compensation: Competitive salary with annual performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
