House Manager

Title: House Manager Reports to: Sr. Director of Programs Status: Full-time, Nonexempt Work Schedule: M-F, 9am-5pm 4 days / 11:00pm-7:00PM (one late day) Hourly Rate: $25.50 Job Summary The House Manager is responsible for developing a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and guests of My Mother’s House (MMH) and Richmond Hill (RH), two Hour Children’s transitional residences. MMH is a residence that supports up to 14 women and/or families in the reentry process, while RH supports up to 9 single rooms for women. The House Manager will focus on creating an environment that centers on community building and supports the continued development of independent living skills. This is a full-time position that can include holidays and/or weekends based on client need. Duties And Responsibilities Serving as a role model-guiding and empowering residents and facilitating appropriate behavior around daily living skills, self-care, personal interaction, social relationships and constructive time management. Sustaining a nurturing and healthy household for all residents and staff alike. Monitoring residents' adherence to program policies and procedures, including curfew compliance and chores. Ensures residents are properly signed in and out of the program. Ensures residents complete required housekeeping activities. Conducts bi-weekly to monthly room inspections. Collaborating with Mental Health Services staff to discuss resident progress and needs. Facilitating monthly house meetings and collaborating with program staff to schedule recreational, educational activities, and participates in case conferencing with when needed. Oversee and coordinates arrivals/transfers, new intakes, and discharges. Providing deescalation, mediation, and conflict resolution to address any interpersonal conflict and/or safety concerns, as appropriate. Work in collaboration with the Senior Director of Programs and Director of Maintenance to address all maintenance matters, including writing up service requests for routine and low maintenance repairs for both MMH and RH. Maintains and manages inventory of welcome items, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and food for both MMH and RH. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Programs manage emergencies including contacting appropriate staff; interacting with police, fire and medical personnel as needed. Preparing and maintaining accurate and complete progress notes, log entries, reports, and other required documents such as incident reports. Attend staff meetings and other agency events, as necessary. Ensures safety and evacuation procedures are appropriate, implemented and up to date. Conduct Fire Drills as scheduled and works with program staff to ensure that fire safety procedures are followed and document these events as per MOCJ and Housing Plus guidelines Assists the Senior Director of Programs in communication as well as being on-call support. Prepare periodic reports, make recommendations to mental health staff as needed. Provide onsite training to new Residential Aide staff.
