Underwriter PositionThe Underwriter will analyze E&S Product Liability submissions from broker partners to determine eligibility of risk within Core E&S Product Liability appetite and subsequently to determine appropriate limits, attachment point, pricing & terms that will provide Core Specialty with adequate underwriting profit on each risk.Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:Execution of Primary GL business plans and objectives including:Build Core Specialty's reputation and presence in the small to medium sized Products Liability Market.Provide prompt and accurate customer service on policy transactionsEnsure all risks considered and bound are within delegated authority, underwriting standards, risk selection, peer review and pricing methodologiesProvide documented evidence of underwriting activities and decisions in files as requiredSupport Company and Department goals and objectivesBuild Core Specialty's relationships with our broker partnersIn addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.Carry out duties within our internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable law, rules, regulation, good governance and Core Specialty's shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business.Knowledge of the Products Liability Market environment:Knowledge of GL Construction, Real Estate and Service Providers & current market environmentKnowledge of underwriting practices, coverage & pricing/rating methodologiesKnowledge of producer & competitor marketplaceKnowledge of targeted industriesKnowledge of insurance company operationsFamiliarity with company systems, procedures & processesSolid understanding of policy wordings and clausesUnderstanding of all pricing/underwriting tools availableExperience:Bachelor's degree (preferably with a Risk Management & Insurance Major) or equivalent work experience.1 plus years of Commercial Insurance Underwriting experienceAchieved or working towards an industry designation such as CPCU, CRM, ARM, CICAbility to travel monthly to meet assigned brokers in the regionApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for this position.At Core Specialty, you will receive a competitive salary and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
