SHIPPING CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION

The Shipping Clerk packs and ships orders for the company daily. Orders are packed and shipped per customer specific routing guides and internal shipping instructions.  Shipping clerks manage orders for small package and freight shipments. 

SHIPPING CLERK RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Pack and ship orders as assigned by the shipping manager.

·         Ensure all orders are packed and shipped on time.

·         Ensure all orders are shipped accurately.

·         Ensure all orders are packed and shipped per proper procedures

·         Ensure orders are tracked and reported per company procedures

• Ensure shipping area is clean and organized daily.
• Perform other job-related duties (e.g., pulling parts), as needed

SHIPPING CLERK QUALIFICATIONS

Potential candidates must have 2+ years of experience packing and shipping.

2+ years of shipping with UPS world ship and FEDEX ship manager

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others are essential. Strong math, organizational, and computer skills are required. Experience with shipping/receiving/inventory software is required. The company is looking for a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision.

SHIPPING CLERK PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to communicate orally with shipping/logistics companies, coworkers, and other department managers is crucial. Regular use of phone and email for communication is essential. Attention to detail is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.

The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office and storage facility is required. Using a computer while standing for extended periods is common; must also be able to lift and move materials when necessary.

Occasional heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) may be required (for example, moving finished goods from inventory to shipping area). Good manual dexterity required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners).
