Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care and Level I trauma experience for a day shift position at a Magnet teaching hospital.

Details

• Adult critical care setting including BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU units
• Patient population includes adult trauma and burn patients, both medically and neurologically complex
• High volume of tracheostomy and spinal cord injury patients, plus complex sleep disordered breathing cases
• Unit also supports a busy ED with ECLS transfers
• Small pediatric population, with openness to training in peds care
• Uses Epic EMR (charting required)
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM-6:00 PM)
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• No floating outside of unit required
• Open to block scheduling arrangements

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• WA state RRT license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Critical care experience within the last 12 months required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with Cough Assist/MIE and LP/LPV required
• Skilled in ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and patient monitoring
• Experience with adult ICU and trauma patient populations required
• Epic charting experience required
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to adult trauma and critical care patients with complex medical and neurological conditions
• Work within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
• Perform airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care as part of daily responsibilities
• Manage ventilator settings and troubleshoot alarms for critically ill patients
• Support ECLS/ECMO patient care as needed
• Any solid color scrubs accepted, light blue scrubs also provided on unit
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be accommodated during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Prior facility staff must have an 18-month separation period before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
