Position Overview

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse (RN) to join a supportive school district for a full-time contract assignment. The School Nurse will play a vital role in promoting student health, safety, and academic success by providing direct nursing services, managing student health plans, and collaborating with school staff, families, and healthcare providers.

Position Details

Job Title: School Nurse (Registered Nurse)
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, School Hours
Location: (San Antonio, TX)

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to students and staff as needed
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and district policies
Monitor and manage chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, seizures, and allergies
Develop, implement, and maintain individualized healthcare plans
Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid
Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate health records
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and healthcare providers to support student well-being
Ensure compliance with state nursing regulations and school district policies
Promote health education and preventative care initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of TX
Current CPR/BLS certification
Previous pediatric, school-based, or community health experience preferred
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
