This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory testing and reporting while working within the scope of a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.What You'll Be Doing:Perform and report automated and manual hematology testing with minimal supervisionVerify quality control results and release laboratory results in accordance with licensing and regulatory requirementsMonitor laboratory inventory, prepare reagents, and maintain equipment and supplies required for daily operationsIdentify, troubleshoot, and communicate testing irregularities that may impact result accuracyParticipate in assay validations, process improvements, and implementation of new testing methodologiesMaintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, GCLP, safety, quality, and company standardsSupport internal and external audits, inspections, and continuing education initiativesAssist with laboratory training activities and special projects as assignedWhat We Are Looking For:Bachelor's Degree required0-5 years of relevant experience in a regulated lab environmentValid California State Clinical Laboratory License to perform laboratory testing requiredWorking knowledge of Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), CLIA requirements, and other applicable regulatory standardsProficiency with hematology laboratory testing procedures, quality control processes, and laboratory instrumentationAbility to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and perform complex laboratory calculations and quality metrics analysisOther equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degreeThe Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:Strong technical knowledge of clinical laboratory testing principles, methodologies, and science supporting analysisEffective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExceptional attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clientsProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointKnowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, and hazardous chemical handling practicesPhysical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
