Shipping Clerk / Tow Motor Operator - 1st Shift

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Summary: This position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions as well as directs warehouse clerks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Assists in shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in materials, matching purchase orders to sales orders bringing any errors to the attention of the lead warehouse clerk.
• Serves as assistant to the lead warehouse clerk with responsibility to ensure that all materials being shipped and received meet production mandates, and are stored and catalogued properly.
• Responsible for keeping warehouse and surrounding area clean and organized.
• Reads customer orders, work orders, shopping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. '' Ensures continuous accountability of the storage of products.
• Performs inspection and approval of incoming/outgoing skids of materials.
• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and customer traffic.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, and relocates orders to holding area before being shipped.
• Marks materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
• Sweep, dust, and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards and ISO standards
• Be certified to operate fork lift with safety of surroundings and other employees in mind.
• Maintains a clean uniform as well as clean appearance in accordance with client's employee handbook.
• Shrink-wraps and prepares all outgoing skids to ensure quality products arrive in suitable condition to customers.
• Refrains from inappropriate language, and behavior. Helps maintain clean break room and restrooms.

Ability to maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority.

Education and/or Experience: Education equivalent to the completion of 12th grade and or applicable experience in warehouse.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general production records, procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, supervisors, and president.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to properly use a flex-lift as well as forklift, organization skills ability to work well under limited supervision. Ability to properly take care of and be respectful of tools, machines, and overall area of machine with a concentration on the safety or yourself and your coworkers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is often required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be proficient in their dexterity and ability to type many documents throughout the average work day in a reasonable time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus, and look at computer monitor for extended periods of time.

Work in an office environment where the noise level is usually quiet. The employee must be able to maintain a proficient work pace refrain from time consuming conversations with other personnel that isn't directly work related. When working on the manufacturing floor, hair and beard covering are required.

Gloves or appropriate safety technology must be worn when working with cleaning supplies. The noise level in the manufacturing facility is usually moderate.
