• Position: Gastroenterology Physician
• Employment Type: Locum tenens
• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,960 - $7,060
• Duration: Ongoing need with 13-week coverage blocks available
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule: Inpatient rounding Monday-Sunday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; call coverage Monday-Monday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
• Setting: Inpatient gastroenterology coverage with higher-acuity procedures
• Patient Volume: Approximately 15 encounters per shift
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Fellowship training preferred
• Active New Mexico medical license required
• Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy required
• DEA registration dedicated to New Mexico required
• At least 1 year of gastroenterology experience required
• Must be able to cover full 7-14 day stretches
• Must be able to perform EUS and ERCP
• ACLS and BLS required
• Clean background required for temporary privileges

• Provide comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology coverage for rounding and call
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions
• Perform advanced GI procedures, including ERCP and EUS
• Complete upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures as needed
• Support continuity of care during recurring locum tenens coverage gaps
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to maintain safe, efficient patient flow
• Respond to urgent GI needs and support higher-acuity cases
