Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist - Council Bluffs, IA. Board-certified candidates wanted for hospital-based perioperative and general anesthesia care near Omaha. Flexible 13-week locum tenens anesthesia assignment with competitive weekly pay.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $11,890 - $12,530
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with potential for extension)
• Start Date: June 8, 2026 (ASAP and ongoing availability preferred)
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule: Friday 5pm-7am, Saturday 7am-7am, Sunday 7am-7am
• Setting: Hospital-based anesthesia; 3,600 inpatient/outpatient surgeries per year - ideal for anesthesiology jobs with diverse case mix
• Support Staff: Anesthesia providers, CRNAs, anesthesia techs - collaborative perioperative team
• EMR: EPIC
• Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa - riverfront trails, parks, and easy access to Omaha's cultural and professional opportunities (Council Bluffs/Omaha healthcare jobs)

• Board Certification in Anesthesiology (required) - board-certified anesthesiologist preferred
• Completion of an accredited residency in Anesthesiology (required)
• Iowa medical license preferred; IMLC accepted or willingness to obtain IA license considered
• Clean malpractice history preferred
• Self-query NPDB report dated within 30 days of application (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an anesthesiologist (hospital/OR experience preferred)

• Provide independent management of general anesthesia cases across a broad surgical mix: Orthopedics, Labor & Delivery, Spine, GI, Gynecology, Urology, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and bariatric surgery
• Perform minimal vascular cases as needed and manage perioperative airway and hemodynamic care - emphasis on safe perioperative anesthesia
• Collaborate closely with CRNAs, anesthesia techs, surgeons, and perioperative staff to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient OR flow
• Provide scheduled on-call coverage, including nights and holiday shifts, as part of hospital anesthesia coverage
• Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the EPIC EMR system
