Director of Product Development

THE ROLE

As Director of Product Development , you own the product pipeline from concept through commercialization across Full Circle Brands' portfolio of sustainable home essentials. This is a leadership role at the center of our product organization -- you define category vision, set the standard for how we develop and bring products to market, and manage the team and processes that make it all happen. You will manage a team of Product Managers while partnering closely with design, sourcing, sales, marketing, and operations, and maintain a dotted‑line relationship with our China‑based development and sourcing team to keep global projects on time, on cost, and on quality. At Full Circle Brands, this role is equal parts strategist and operator. You're not just managing a pipeline -- you're shaping what products exist, how our portfolio evolves, and ensuring every decision reflects our commitment to sustainability, thoughtful design, and real‑world functionality.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Define, refine and own the 1-to-3-year product roadmap across Full Circle, Soma, and our Private Label partnerships -- identifying whitespace, anticipating category shifts, and building a pipeline that keeps our assortment competitive and mission‑aligned Translate the strategic pipeline, consumer and retail insights into prioritized development briefs Lead, coach, and develop the team, setting expectations for product definition, timeline management, and cross‑functional execution Manage strategic projects yourself, from ideation to commercialization Establish and continuously improve the standards and processes by which products move from brief to launch -- from project brief to sample approval to go‑to‑market readiness Maintain dotted‑line oversight of the China‑based sourcing and development team (Genimex and other partners), coordinating timelines, sample reviews, factory audits, and cost negotiations across time zones Manage vendor relationships and lead sourcing efforts as needed in partnership with the China team -- vetting new manufacturers, negotiating MOQs, lead times, and costs to hit margin and time‑to‑market targets Lead prototype and sample review processes across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring products meet quality, sustainability, and brand standards before retail approvals Own the product development budget and cost architecture, building costing worksheets, establishing target prices, and managing margin from early development through launch Drive sustainability standards into every product decision -- upholding Full Circle Brands' B Corporation certification and ESG commitments through material choices, packaging, and supplier accountability Partner with marketing and copywriting on features and benefits for web, packaging, and retail sell‑in materials Lead category review prep and new item presentations for key retail accounts including Whole Foods, Target, and other premium and mass channels Conduct portfolio reviews and gate meetings with senior leadership Own relationship with our legal firm to manage patents and trademarks Incorporate post‑launch performance data, customer feedback, and retail sell‑through into future portfolio strategy

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

7+ years of experience in product development, with at least 2-3 years managing a team Background in hard goods, housewares, CPG, or a related consumer goods category strongly preferred -- you understand materials, construction, and end‑to‑end development processes Proven track record building and executing multi‑category product roadmaps Hands‑on experience working with overseas manufacturers and sourcing teams, particularly in Asia Strong financial acumen -- comfortable with cost negotiation, margin analysis, assortment planning, and business case development Excellent brief‑writing skills; able to translate ambiguous category opportunities into clear, actionable direction for design and sourcing teams Confident presenter to both internal leadership and external retail buyers Genuine passion for sustainability, social responsibility, and mission‑driven business -- this isn't a checkbox for us, and it shouldn't be for you Bachelor's degree required Experience with PLM systems a plus Comfortable with AI tools and willing to adapt to new ways of working High EQ, collaborative spirit, and just a genuinely nice person to work alongside

SALARY RANGE

$150,000 - $165,000 commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus opportunity
