VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

Location: Jacksonville, FL (HQ) | Approximately 10% Travel (South Carolina)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Compensation: $125,000 – $135,000 Base Salary + Up to $20,000 Annual Performance Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Team Oversight: HR, IT, Facilities, Marketing & Communications, External Agencies

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Vice President of Operations directs non-academic infrastructure, human resources, network marketing, legal compliance frameworks, and logistical systems for our growing educational network, which includes five public charter schools across two states, as well as a new K-8 Christian school launching in Fall 2027.

Serving on the executive leadership team alongside the Chief of Schools and Chief Financial Officer, this role reports directly to the CEO. The Vice President of Operations is responsible for building scalable standard operating procedures, directing network marketing and recruitment strategies, leading shared services, and reducing administrative barriers for instructional leaders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Systems, SOPs & Compliance

Audit, document, implement, and enforce network-wide non-academic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology and AI workflow automation.

Maintain and support organizational policies, including Employee Handbooks, Code of Ethics, Title IX compliance, EEOC compliance, and network safety and emergency response protocols.

Monitor operational compliance and identify areas for improvement across the organization.

Marketing, Enrollment & Data Compliance

Lead network-wide marketing, brand management, and student recruitment initiatives.

Direct internal marketing personnel and external marketing agencies to support lead generation and enrollment growth.

Oversee enrollment technology systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), and registration processes.

Develop and maintain registration and enrollment SOPs.

Support registrar training and ensure accurate state and authorizer enrollment and FTE funding data submissions.

HR & Shared Services Operations

Lead talent sourcing, candidate screening, background checks, digital onboarding, credentialing, and staffing vendor relationships.

Establish and monitor service-level expectations for staffing and shared service vendors.

Support the Chief Financial Officer with corporate payroll processing, Workers' Compensation, and FMLA administration.

Partner with HR leadership to improve employee processes, communication, and organizational efficiency.

Departmental Leadership: IT & Facilities

Provide leadership and oversight to the IT Director and Director of Facilities.

Oversee physical plant operations, capital projects, leases, IT hardware lifecycles, cybersecurity initiatives, campus standards, and event logistics.

Ensure facilities and technology systems support the operational needs of all campuses.

Monitor vendor performance and ensure projects are completed on time and within established budgets.

2027 SCHOOL LAUNCH MANAGEMENT

Lead non-construction operational readiness for the organization's new K-8 Christian school launching in Fall 2027.

Oversee FF&E procurement and installation, IT deployment, operational systems, marketing infrastructure, and initial registration processes.

Coordinate across departments and vendors to ensure the campus is operationally prepared for launch.

Develop timelines, identify critical milestones, and monitor progress toward opening.

FINANCIAL & COST MANAGEMENT

Oversee operational spending limits, facility budgets, and vendor contracts.

Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.

Monitor shared service expenses and labor utilization.

Ensure operational resources are aligned with organizational priorities and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, organizational leadership, marketing management, logistics, HR compliance, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures.

Experience managing vendors, external agencies, or service providers.

Experience overseeing operations across multiple locations, departments, or business units.

Knowledge or experience with regulatory compliance, including EEOC, Title IX, and FMLA.

Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership experience in corporate service networks, multi-unit operations, logistics, healthcare administration, EMOs/CMOs, or military logistics.

Experience leading shared services across multiple locations.

Experience implementing technology or automation to improve organizational efficiency.

Experience supporting the launch or expansion of a new organization, facility, campus, or business unit.
