Lateral Conflicts Analyst

Job Overview The Conflicts Analyst – Lateral is responsible for conflict research and identification for onboarding new and lateral attorneys, ensuring all ethical conflicts are resolved prior to hiring decisions and that candidates are aware of potential conflicts with portable or prospective clients. Locations US-WI-Milwaukee | US-MA-Boston | US-IL-Chicago | US-TX-Dallas | US-CO-Denver | US-CA-Los Angeles | US-WI-Madison | US-Washington DC | US-NY-New York Responsibilities Prepare initial conflict summaries and identify potential conflicts of interest for lateral attorneys and non‑lawyers who are not bringing portable clients to the firm. Support sponsoring attorneys in resolving conflicts, clearing them, and drafting waiver letters, including corporate and conflict database research on client and matter information provided by candidates, attorneys and recruiting staff, and checking former and current work for potential conflicts. Prepare initial conflict summaries and identification for lateral partners bringing portable clients, providing support in resolving conflicts, clearing them, and drafting waiver letters, including checking former clients and non‑portable target clients for potential conflicts. Maintain and keep several lateral candidate files organized, able to provide updates or status information on any given candidate on short notice. When a lateral partner joins, work directly with the partner and their assistant to expedite opening of priority portable clients. Work with the Deputy General Counsel to ensure conflicts are properly identified and communicated to the candidate prior to the start date. Collaborate with the Supervisor, Lateral Conflicts, and the CNB Senior Manager to erect necessary ethics screens immediately upon a candidate’s joining. Assist sponsoring attorneys, recruiting staff, and candidates directly as needed. Ensure communication between CNB and Information Governance/Transfer teams regarding onboarding of lateral files and opening of transfer clients and matters. Assist with other duties related to resolving and clearing conflicts of interest issues, including regular new business of the firm. Assist the CNB Senior Manager with a wide range of research requests and projects. Prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of two (2) years of conflicts analysis experience required. Experience with lateral conflicts analysis required; equivalent or relevant work experience may be substituted.
