This full-time seasonal position plays an important role in creating memorable experiences for Members, Guests, and event attendees through professional, attentive, and highly coordinated service. Banquet Servers participate in all aspects of event execution, including event setup, food and beverage service, maintaining event spaces throughout functions, clearing and resetting, and post-event breakdown. The Banquet Server reviews event requirements and service instructions, works closely with Banquet, Culinary, Bartenders, Bussers, Runners, and other Food & Beverage Team Members, and adapts to varying event formats, locations, timelines, and service styles. Banquet Servers are expected to provide service that is warm, welcoming, polished, and professional while maintaining the refined service standards associated with a premier private club environment. The position requires flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to anticipate Member and Guest needs while ensuring seamless event execution. While primarily assigned to Banquet and Special Event operations, Banquet Servers may periodically be assigned to assist restaurant and other Food & Beverage operations based on Club business and operational needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide exceptional hospitality, service, and communication to Members, Guests, event attendees, and fellow Team Members at all times. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), function sheets, menus, event timelines, floor plans, table assignments, dietary accommodations, special requests, and service instructions as directed prior to each event. Become familiar with event menus, beverage selections, service style, event schedule, table assignments, allergies, dietary accommodations, and other event-specific requirements. Participate in pre-event meetings and service briefings to understand event details, assignments, timing, and expectations. Assist with event setup, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, glassware, silverware, china, centerpieces, service stations, beverage stations, buffet stations, and other event-related equipment and supplies. Ensure tables, event spaces, and service areas are properly set and presentation-ready prior to the arrival of Members and Guests. Provide professional food and beverage service during Club functions, weddings, tournaments, private parties, receptions, holiday events, Member events, and other special events. Execute plated, buffet, reception, passed hors d'oeuvres, cocktail, beverage, family-style, and other event service formats as assigned. Serve food and beverages utilizing proper service standards and techniques. Carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally. Follow established event timing and service sequences to ensure courses, beverages, clearing, and other service elements are properly coordinated. Maintain awareness of event schedules and adjust service activities as directed by Banquet or Food & Beverage leadership. Anticipate Member and Guest needs and respond promptly and professionally to requests. Monitor assigned tables, sections, and event areas continuously throughout functions. Replenish beverages, glassware, silverware, buffet items, service supplies, and other event necessities as appropriate. Clear and reset tables and service areas efficiently while minimizing disruption to Members and Guests. Maintain event spaces, service stations, back-of-house areas, and workspaces in a clean, organized, sanitary, and presentation-ready condition. Accurately enter transactions into the POS system and process Member charges when required by the event or assigned duties. Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, special requests, Member preferences, and service concerns promptly to appropriate Team Members and leadership. Work collaboratively with Banquet, Culinary, Bartenders, Bussers, Runners, Event Team Members, and other Food & Beverage staff to maintain proper service timing and ensure seamless event execution. Maintain a strong sense of urgency while remaining composed, polished, and professional during high-volume and time-sensitive events. Assist with post-event breakdown, including clearing tables and service areas, removing and organizing linens, glassware, silverware, china, serviceware, equipment, and supplies. Return event equipment and supplies to designated storage areas and assist in preparing event spaces for subsequent Club activities. Complete assigned opening, side work, event, and closing duties. Follow all food safety and sanitation requirements in accordance with Riverside County Food Handler standards. Follow responsible alcohol service requirements and all applicable Club policies and legal requirements. Support a safe working environment and immediately report unsafe conditions. Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, and prepared to perform assigned duties. Follow all Club policies, procedures, event specifications, and service standards. Communicate effectively with management and fellow Team Members to ensure exceptional Member and Guest experiences. Demonstrate flexibility regarding work assignments, event locations, service styles, schedules, and changing operational needs. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities. Perform additional duties as assigned. Restaurant & Food and Beverage Support Banquet Servers are primarily assigned to Club functions, banquets, weddings, tournaments, private events, and other special events. Based on business levels and operational needs, Banquet Servers may periodically be assigned to support restaurant or other Food & Beverage operations. When assigned to restaurant operations, Banquet Servers may: Assist with restaurant food and beverage service in accordance with established Club service standards. Review menus, daily specials, beverage offerings, reservations, table assignments, and service instructions as appropriate. Assist with restaurant setup, side work, service stations, clearing, resetting, and closing duties. Take and serve food and beverage orders when assigned and appropriately trained. Enter transactions accurately into the POS system and properly process Member charges according to Club policies and procedures. Assist Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, Bartenders, Hosts, and other Food & Beverage Team Members as operational needs require. Maintain the same standards of Member service, professionalism, attentiveness, and hospitality expected during banquet and special event assignments. Remain flexible in assigned duties and service areas based on the overall needs of the Food & Beverage operation. MEMBER SERVICE & PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS Consistently deliver gracious, attentive, and personalized service to Members and Guests. Greet Members and Guests promptly, warmly, and professionally. Learn and recognize Member names and preferences whenever possible. Maintain a polished, professional, and courteous demeanor at all times. Anticipate Member and Guest needs before being asked whenever possible. Remain attentive to event participants while respecting the flow, purpose, and formality of each event. Build positive relationships with Members while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Avoid overly familiar, inappropriate, or unprofessional interactions while on duty. Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality regarding Member information, private events, Guests, and Club operations. Exercise sound judgment and professionalism in all conversations and communications. Respond to Member or Guest concerns promptly and communicate concerns to leadership when appropriate. Represent Hideaway Golf Club in a manner consistent with the Club's reputation for excellence. Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement. Respond positively and professionally to coaching and feedback. WINE & BEVERAGE KNOWLEDGE EXPECTATIONS Maintain a working knowledge of the Club's wine, beer, spirits, cocktail, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings relevant to assigned events. Become familiar with event-specific wine and beverage selections prior to service. Develop familiarity with wine varietals, regions, tasting profiles, and food pairing recommendations. Confidently answer Member and Guest questions regarding beverage selections and make appropriate recommendations when applicable. Understand and follow proper wine service procedures, including presentation, opening, pouring, and handling of wine bottles. Demonstrate knowledge of proper beverage and tray service techniques for plated dinners, receptions, cocktail events, and other banquet functions. Demonstrate knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and comply with all applicable laws and Club policies regarding alcohol service. Participate in beverage education, wine tastings, training sessions, and product knowledge programs as assigned. Continuously expand beverage knowledge to support Hideaway Golf Club's commitment to providing a premier private club event experience. Previous banquet, catering, restaurant, private club, luxury hospitality, resort, fine dining, wedding, or special event service experience preferred. Current Riverside County Food Handler Card. General competency with point-of-sale systems; Jonas experience preferred. Working knowledge of food, wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. Knowledge of banquet service styles, including plated, buffet, reception, passed hors d'oeuvres, and beverage service preferred. Ability to read and follow BEOs, function sheets, event timelines, floor plans, menus, table assignments, and written service instructions. Ability to follow detailed event specifications and adapt quickly when event needs or timelines change. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with Members, Guests, event attendees, and Team Members. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to work effectively as part of a coordinated event service team. Ability to remain standing and walking for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to transport food trays, beverage trays, service equipment, tables, chairs, linens, and supplies safely and efficiently. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain. Ability to work flexible and varying schedules based on the Club's event calendar, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Ability to work shifts that may vary in start time, end time, and duration depending on event requirements. Maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with Club grooming and uniform standards. Demonstrate a positive attitude, professionalism, patience, courtesy, and strong interpersonal skills. Learn and use Member names whenever possible to enhance the Member experience. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Food safety, alcohol service, wine service, or hospitality certifications are beneficial. Commitment to delivering exceptional Member and Guest service and maintaining luxury hospitality standards. Flexibility to work across banquet, special event, restaurant, and other Food & Beverage service areas based on operational needs. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Criminal and civil background clearance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing and walking continuously throughout the shift while providing food and beverage service to Members and Guests. Carrying trays, plates, glassware, beverage containers, service equipment, and supplies throughout dining rooms, patios, banquet spaces, and other Club facilities. Reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling to set and clear tables, retrieve supplies, stock service stations, and assist Members. Using hands and fingers continuously to handle trays, glassware, silverware, point-of-sale equipment, menus, food items, and beverage service tools. Communicating with Members, Guests, culinary staff, and fellow Team Members to coordinate service, respond to requests, and ensure Member satisfaction. Reading menus, point-of-sale screens, reservation information, event orders, and other operational documents requiring close and distance vision. Identifying food items, beverages, table numbers, service areas, and potential safety hazards requiring depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling food trays, beverage trays, bus tubs, tables, chairs, and service equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions associated with Club operations and special events. Maintaining awareness of dining room activity, Member needs, and service flow while performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Work Environment This job operates in a professional private club, banquet, event, and food and beverage environment. The position utilizes standard banquet and food and beverage serving equipment, including trays, glassware, silverware, china, tables, chairs, linens, service equipment, and related event supplies. Service locations may include banquet rooms, Club restaurants, patios, Clubhouse exterior grounds, golf course event locations, private party locations, tournament venues, outdoor event spaces, and other areas of the Club. The position requires frequent movement between event spaces, service areas, kitchens, staging areas, and storage locations. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors and may involve varying temperatures and weather conditions.
