Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Work in a tele-capable Med/Surg unit primarily serving a general medical-surgical patient population
• Care for observation patients, respiratory conditions, palliative/end-of-life/hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetic patients, and surgical/surgical observation cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00pm-7:30am)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required across all Cone Health facilities as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oral suctioning), IV therapy, PICC line management, GI care (colostomy/ileostomy, feeding tube management), cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, wound care/wound vac, and renal/dialysis management preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms, managing dysrhythmias, and utilizing rapid response/code teams as needed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No prior travel experience required, though travel experience is a plus
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
