Job Summary This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care in the following areas: All Critical Care (CCU/ICU, ER, NICU, CVICU, PICU, MICU, Radiology, Dialysis, PACU, CVOR, Labor and Delivery, OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, and GI/Endo). This position will support all the facilities in the market as needed. Responsibilities Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective total nursing care to all patients. Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, aiming to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care. Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administer all medications safely and timely per hospital policy. Perform and fulfill all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed in times of emergency and/or disaster. Know the Hospital’s emergency codes and follow policies and procedures for each code. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. (Preferred: Bachelor's or master's degree.) Experience: 2 years of current experience in the specialty. Certifications: Licensed or registered to practice as required by law, with AHA BLS and, if applicable, AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.
