Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a night-shift Level I Trauma Center ER position requiring Epic charting proficiency.

Job Details

• Provides respiratory care in a high-volume ER within a Level I Trauma Center,
• Adult critical care setting covering Neurotrauma, cardiovascular services, and medical/surgical ICU patients,
• Serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations,
• Patient ratio of 1:25,
• Utilizes Servo I, Servo U, V-60 BiPAP, Optiflow heated high flow, iNO with iNOvent, and LTV1200 equipment,
• Epic EMR experience required for charting,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a, every other weekend,
• Floating required within skillset,
• Facility follows a robust Assess and Treat protocol with ventilator management and liberation policy,

Job Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through NBRC required; CRT not accepted,
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience,
• Epic charting system experience required,
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Community hospital experience preferred,
• Critical care experience required to work in a high-volume ER and Level I Trauma Center,
• Proficient in aerosol and medication delivery systems including MDI, Medihaler, mask, and trach setups,
• Skilled in administering medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, Mucomyst, racemic epinephrine, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, bicarbonate, and lidocaine,
• Competent in ABG interpretation and ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, and flow-by troubleshooting,
• Skilled in airway management including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, suctioning, sputum collection, and tracheostomy care,
• Proficient in oxygen therapy and nebulizer setups including handheld, T-piece, trach collar, and ultrasonic devices,
• Active state license required if applicable,

• Serves as a Level I Trauma Center for adults and pediatrics with advanced stroke center certification,
• Magnet-designated facility recognized for nursing excellence,
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract,
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application,
• First-time travelers considered, with 1 year of travel experience preferred,
• Previous employees must have a break of at least one year before returning as a traveler,
