Learn more at Job Description CFD Research is looking to hire an early‑career Business Analyst (BA) to our Operations team to serve as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, using data to identify problems and propose solutions that improve efficiency, profitability, and operational performance. Location This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Basic Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics (preferred), Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field Requirements Gathering: Interviewing stakeholders to elicit, define, and document business needs and project objectives. Process Analysis: Evaluating current business processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement, including automation. Data Modeling & Analysis: Using data to uncover trends and patterns, and creating visual models (flowcharts, diagrams) to represent "as‑is" and "to‑be" states. Solution Design: Recommending technological or procedural changes and ensuring they align with the organization’s long‑term strategic goals. Analytics & Reporting: Building dashboards and predictive models to monitor the performance of automated systems and overall business health. Strong technical skills: Excel, Python, Power BI, Tableau, etc. Patent Reporting: Administrative support managing the lifecycle of patent documents, including drafting formal forms (declarations, assignments), and maintaining electronic filing systems. Candidate must be a US Citizen and must be able to meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a secret clearance. Desired Qualifications Analytical Thinking: Ability to solve complex problems and make data‑driven decisions. Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders. Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Microsoft Excel and SQL, along with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
