Bankruptcy Paralegal – Chapter 7, Chapter 11 & Creditor's Rights

Sonja Cotton & Associates is pleased to partner with one of Arizona's premier law firms in the search for an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join its highly respected Bankruptcy and Creditor's Rights practice.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned legal professional who enjoys handling sophisticated bankruptcy matters, working closely with attorneys and clients, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing legal team.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will support attorneys representing creditors, lenders, financial institutions, businesses, and trustees in a broad range of Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Creditor's Rights matters. This position offers meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on complex bankruptcy cases from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and electronically file bankruptcy petitions, pleadings, motions, and supporting documents with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court
• Maintain case calendars and monitor critical filing deadlines and court requirements
• Coordinate with clients to obtain financial records and bankruptcy documentation
• Prepare claims, reaffirmation agreements, notices, and related bankruptcy filings
• Assist attorneys with hearings, creditor meetings, and contested bankruptcy matters
• Communicate professionally with trustees, creditors, opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients
• Maintain organized electronic case files and ensure accuracy throughout all stages of litigation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of bankruptcy paralegal experience
• Strong knowledge of Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Creditor's Rights practice
• Experience with electronic filing through the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (ECF)
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to client service
