Employees shall meet the requirements of their Board of Medical Examiners; and be licensed to the practice medicine without restrictions within the state or federal installation. Must hold current APP License, an unrestricted DEA registration, and be eligible to work unrestricted. BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA preferred), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA preferred) is required and up to date. Applicants are required to demonstrate prior completion of Incident Command System training, including the following FEMA independent study courses: • IS-100.c Incident Command System • IS-200.b ICS for Single Resources • IS-700.b National Incident Management System • IS-800.c National Response Framework \* Proof of course completion for each course above will be required for consideration.**Experience Req**: A minimum of 4000 hours or two (2) years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience in a family practice or a moderate volume (>10,000 visits/year) emergency department setting is required. Prior RN experience is preferred if practicing as a Nurse Practitioner. Experience with pediatric and adult populations to include completing physical assessments is required. Bilingual (Spanish and English) communication skills are preferred**Summary**: National EMR consistently seeks talented and hard-working individuals who are eager to assist impacted communities and first responders on an “as needed basis” as reservist employees. Reservists (YOU) are part of an elite, all-hazards response cadre who are available to work intermittently, commit to working when needed, and travel/deploy within 24-48 hours. The cadre plays a key role in keeping National EMR ready to deploy the right people in the right jobs quickly in an emergency management situation. These situations could include hurricane responses, mass shooting(s), wildfire responses, and more. As a company we have responded to every major US incident that has occurred in the last 25 years. We are proud of our record and reputation but recognize we can’t do this without our reservists. Specifically, this position falls into our Medical Reservist Team. Our Medical Reservists may maintain a full time job to keep up with their licensure but who consider this line of work as a movement or a calling and are in a position to take time off to support as needed. Reservists may be deployed to fulfill any role specifically related to the incident, and deployment roles will be based on reservists’ skills, performance, and experience. National EMR does not guarantee length or frequency of deployments. You will be paid for the actual number of hours worked. Pay scales are based on the job classification and contract as determined by National EMR.National EMR was built on the premise of filling gaps and serving those with the greatest needs in a disaster. National EMR has spent most of our time in the emergency support functions (ESF) of mass care, emergency assistance, housing, human services, public health, and medical services as our core mission areas. Reservists are responsible for maintaining personal readiness and your “active/eligible” status. Reservists will be entering into a fast-paced, ever-shifting, high-pressure environment. You are expected to perform well, make informed decisions, and be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays.To successfully perform the essential functions of a reservist, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.**Responsibilities and Duties:**Reservists may be assigned to any role within an emergency response under the Incident Command System (ICS) structure. Duties include, but are not limited to:1. Possess a clear understanding of National EMR, and Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) protocols for illness, injury, medication administration and emergency situations. 2. Ability to exhibit clear communication skills with clinic staff, command staff and physicians. 3. Establishes health care plans for service population utilizing best practice provider guidelines. 4. Complete accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies and procedures, contract and regulatory requirements and standards and program timeline requirements. 5. Review, write and update medical protocols and procedures in collaboration with chain of command. 6. Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program and federal partners 7. Understand and adhere to the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual. 8. Maintain personal readiness to deploy within 6–12 hours of activation, including updated availability in National EMR’s mobile application. 9. Complete agency-directed training through the learning management system, including Just-In-Time (JIT) training and mission-specific modules. 10. Promote a culture of safety by identifying hazards, reporting safety concerns immediately, and following established safety protocols. 11. Foster a culture that encourages team members to work safely, identify potential hazards, and report safety concerns immediately to their direct chain of command. 12. Maintain active status within the agency’s platforms, including learning management systems to complete training that may be directed toward self-improvement, mission-specifics, or Just-In-Time (JIT) training. 13. Participate in, assist, or supervise a workforce that will conduct disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives as needed. 14. Be receptive and flexible to serve in any position when responding to critical circumstances which may have obstacles and/or challenges that need to be overcome. 15. Be able to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short-term performance goals. 16. Support survivors and communities during disasters by being readily available to assist at a moment’s notice. 17. Other duties as assigned.**Measurable Deliverables:**1. Practice of medicine within the scope of license, training, and credentialing. 2. Practice of medicine in accordance with the current standards of care 3. Meet and maintain all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position. 4. See patients in the shelter medical unit (a broad-spectrum office that serves all pediatric and adult ages and conditions) on a permanent basis. 5. Demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrative knowledge of the principles of growth and development 6. Conduct medical examinations and immunizations according to contract guidelines. 7. Communicate appropriately with the person served 8. Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner and per guidelines. 9. Round on nurse calls to other office locations if needed and as directed. 10. Participation in the development/review of office policies and support of the RN manager in their duties. 11. Provide National EMR support as needed when on call or during office hours. 12. Promote a safety-conscious workplace and maintain good housekeeping practices. 13. Abide by all appropriate policies & procedures, with an emphasis on strict adherence to ethical codes 14. Ability to perform in dynamic, fast-paced, stressful environments associated with disaster response situations nationwide. 15. Maintains situational awareness of weather events, disasters, or potential disasters in the area of operation and around the world. 16. Performs other duties as required or assigned**Requirements:**1. Must maintain deployable status and the physical/mental readiness to work in emergency environments on short notice. 2. Adhere to high standards of professional integrity and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and workplace expectations. 3. Provide proof of valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing with no restrictions (subject to review annually). 4. Successfully pass a background check and drug screening (pre-deployment or random). 5. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Work collaboratively across disciplines and communicate effectively (verbal and written). b. Respond sensitively to diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and community needs. c. Navigate high-stress environments with sound judgment and composure. d. Operate independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team with limited supervision. e. Use Microsoft Office and communication tools (radio, satellite phone, mobile apps). f. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics. g. Maintain professional skills, including strong interpersonal and non-verbal communication. h. Perform physical activity such as extensive walking, stretching, bending, and occasionally lifting and/or exceeding 50 lbs. 6. Must be capable of maintaining physical endurance and focus during extended operations (12-hour shifts). 7. Must be available for on-call duty and may be required to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support emergency response and deployment operations. 8. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including, but not limited to: Good standing as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) within the state of practice or at minimum within another state if operations are based on Federal property or part of a disaster response where disaster licensing is permitted. 9. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request. 10. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks. 11. Demonstrate the ability to: a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers, professionals and clients c. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English d. Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining control and professional composure at all times and making decisions based on the needs of the program and service population e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team 12. Must provide current physical-medical release and provide proof of immunizations, titers or declinations for the following: a. MMR b. Varicella c. HepB d. HepA e. Tetanus f. TB Screen in past 12 months via PPD/IGRA or Chest X-ray g. Meningococcal (preferred) h. Influenza (during the annual season) 13.
