Lab Assistant I

Laboratory Assistant I at Natera in Austin supports diagnostic specimen processing and workflow management in a clinical laboratory setting. The role involves receiving, preparing, and tracking specimens while maintaining inventory and adhering to HIPAA compliance protocols. Position operates Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM.

Responsibilities Assist licensed/certified staff in preparing blood tubes and tissue specimens for laboratory testing Receive and route specimens to appropriate workflow stations and labs timely Maintain sample organization through physical and electronic storage systems and proper disposal Enter patient data accurately into the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS) Prepare samples for shipment and maintain laboratory inventory and supply organization Requirements High school diploma required Science-related degree preferred Less than one year industry experience preferred Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills Excellent written and oral communication abilities
