Experienced Line Cook | $18–$21/Hour + Tips | Full-Time

Ponzu Sushi is hiring an experienced Line Cook for our downtown Palm Springs location.

Pay is $18–$21 per hour based on experience, plus tips. This is a full-time position offering approximately 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime during peak season.

We are looking for a dependable cook who knows how to run a station, works clean, moves with urgency, and can maintain consistency during a busy service. Japanese-cuisine experience is helpful, but it is not required. Strong fundamentals, reliability, and the right attitude matter more.

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants stable hours, strong earning potential, and room to grow within an expanding restaurant group.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and run an assigned station through service

• Execute dishes according to established recipes, portions, and plating standards

• Complete prep accurately and keep your station fully stocked

• Maintain speed and consistency during high-volume service

• Work clean and keep your station organized throughout the shift

• Communicate clearly with chefs, cooks, sushi staff, and the FOH team

• Support other stations when needed

• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, cooling, labeling, and storage procedures

• Complete opening and closing responsibilities thoroughly

• Respond professionally to direction, coaching, and feedback

Experience with Japanese cuisine, high-volume service, sauté, fry, grill, garde manger, or detailed plating is a plus.

• $18–$21 per hour based on experience

Requirements

• Riverside County Food Handler Certificate required before starting

• ServSafe certification is preferred
