Branch Manager

Position Summary Supervise and coordinate the activities of all staff at the branch. Maintain a safe workplace environment, ensure compliance with applicable laws and attract and retain qualified team members. The Branch Manager’s objective is to meet or exceed the annual EBIT, sales budget and inventory goals while fulfilling the customers’ expectations for supply of product and service. Responsibilities Hire and supervise employees for all positions (counter sales, warehouse, delivery drivers and others). Review work throughout the process and at completion to ensure effectiveness. Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels and respond to fluctuating workloads. Communicate with employees regularly to ensure procedures are followed and new approved methods are known. Appraise and document employee performance at regular intervals, set performance improvement plans, and conduct annual performance reviews on the anniversary date. Recommend pay increases based on performance after obtaining required approvals. Enforce company policies and procedures. Counsel employees on work‑related activities, personal growth and career development. Prepare reports for the Area Manager and Operations Manager. Report injuries to the third‑party administrator, Zurich. Work the parts counter weekly; greet walk‑in customers immediately and have an associate offer assistance within 2 minutes. Ensure 100% order accuracy, post inventory receipts daily, invoice sales daily, deposit cash receipts, and process vendor invoices. Approve expenses within budget limits. Lead monthly sales meetings, review territory EBIT and sales revenue, identify new opportunities, and share successful practices. Maintain a top‑25 customer list and visit at least three customers each month for new business opportunities. Lead annual development of product pricing strategy for each account. Suggest inventory updates and update catalogues quarterly; review inventory reports weekly and take corrective action on negative quantities. Follow up or cancel open invoices and purchase orders, review accounts receivable aging weekly, and coordinate collections with the credit department. Establish preventive maintenance plans for delivery trucks and forklifts and conduct daily inspections. Ensure annual physical inventory variances do not exceed 2% of total inventory value. Maintain branch appearance through daily cleaning of the entire facility, restocking display areas and restrooms, and answering telephone calls uniformly. Problem Sensitivity: recognizing potential problems. Deductive Reasoning: applying general rules to specific problems. Physical Demands Handling of normal stock will include lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60lbs. up to 15% of the time. Majority of lifting and carrying involves parts between 5 and 60lbs. Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions: Inside/Outside Conditions, varied temperature changes, minimal chemical hazards, vibration, dust, vehicle noise. OSHA approved steel‑toed safety shoes required from the first day of this job. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Associate’s Degree in Business Administration preferred. Professional Experience: Minimum 5years in heavy‑duty truck parts industry, including at least 3years in a supervisory position. Certifications / Licenses: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
