Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT/CLS)

Seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT/CLS) to provide professional laboratory testing services at a correctional healthcare facility in Butner, NC. The facility's referral laboratory is CAP accredited and provides laboratory testing services across multiple institutions.

The selected candidate will perform testing across major laboratory disciplines while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with applicable laboratory standards.

• Perform laboratory testing in hematology, transfusion services, coagulation, urinalysis, infectious disease, serology, and chemistry.
• Analyze human blood, tissue, and body fluid specimens using clinical laboratory science principles.
• Correlate laboratory test data with human physiology and appropriately interpret results.
• Participate in external proficiency testing programs to support laboratory accreditation.
• Process incoming and outgoing referral specimens.
• Maintain laboratory logs, records, and laboratory request forms in accordance with CLIA guidelines.
• Perform other laboratory duties as assigned.

• Completion of a clinical laboratory training program.
• Current ASCP or AMT certification.
• Successful completion of a clinical laboratory certification examination.
• Clinical laboratory testing experience on human specimens within the past three (3) years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse inmate population.
• Correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

This is an in-person position in a secure correctional healthcare environment.
