STUDENT - Legal Analyst

Main Purpose of the Role:

An analyst in ZIM’s US Legal, Claims and Insurance Department is expected to assist the attorneys, paralegal, and claims handlers in day to day tasks, including 1) preparation of documents, templates, and processes; 2) processing and organizing claims and payments to customers; 3) managing, responding to and filing emails; 4) communicating professionally with internal stakeholders and external third parties; and 5) select/discrete research and administrative tasks. .

Main Tasks:

• Collect data from systems and internal parties

• Analyze reports and provide recommendations

• Create process maps •

• Draft correspondence, routine legal and claims related documents and communications to internal and external parties

• Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders to obtain information, follow up on requests and facilitate resolution of matters

• Prepare clear, readable reports of findings and present recommendations toleaders

• Support ad-hoc projects for both internal and external parties

• Identify automation or improvement opportunities

• Identify and implement technology utilization

REQUIREMENTS

A student of Law, Marine Studies, Marine Logistics/Management

Systems oriented

Analytical skills

Proficient in English language (Speaking, reading and writing).

High level of control in Office tools, Excel and Power point

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to draft clear, professional business correspondence and documents for internal and external audiences

Strong attention to detail

Must be able to commit to working on-site in our Virginia Beach location, 20 hours per week, during normal business hours
