Relationship Banker I As a Relationship Banker I you will serve as the single point of contact for customers, matching their needs with First United Bank products and services and mentoring employees to do the same. Responsibilities Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and relevant regulatory issues. Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer‑servicing activities. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships. Serve as customers' single point of contact for all First United Bank products and services. Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals and actively participate in all sales campaigns. Promote new products and services, educate customers and peers within the bank. Participate in all meetings, bank functions and customer appreciation/community events as requested. Consistently meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, greeting customers, using their name and building rapport to generate customer loyalty. Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs, including making referrals to other staff members and departments. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products offered by the bank; provide account opening information and ensure proper paperwork is completed. Assist customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, privacy). Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors according to established policies (cash, checks, money orders, savings bonds, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, loan payments, etc.). Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications and vault duties; verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate and prove cash drawer upon shift completion. Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues; review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports on a daily basis. Assist customers with account charge‑off repayment plans. Perform security functions by opening and closing bank vault and ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds. Master the primary purpose and essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position. Qualifications High school diploma preferred; some college preferred. One year of retail experience preferred. Cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills. Basic mathematics ability. High accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills (verbal, written). Effective time management and ability to work independently. Good judgment and decision‑making skills. Critical thinking: logic and reasoning to identify solutions. Ability to multi‑task. Professional attitude and appearance. Ethical behavior in and out of work. Active listening: attentive, asking questions, understanding customers.
