International and Operational Genetic Counselor

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an International and Operational Genetic Counselor based in the United States.

This is a remote opportunity for a genetic counseling professional supporting high-quality genomic and reproductive genetic testing services.
You will combine clinical genetics expertise with laboratory-focused quality assurance and operational support across domestic and international programs.
The role plays an important part in maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and clinical quality of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) services.
You will work closely with laboratory scientists, genetic counselors, clinics, patients, and external partners on complex and non-standard cases.
Beyond day-to-day case management, you will contribute to product improvements, quality initiatives, data analysis, and operational projects.

This position is well suited to an experienced genetic counselor who combines strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and an interest in laboratory operations.

Accountabilities

• Support quality assurance for PGT laboratory and genetic counseling protocols, applying practical knowledge of clinical, molecular, and population genetics to verify the accuracy of laboratory report data.
• Work alongside laboratory scientists to assist with the preparation and review of reports involving complex or non-standard genetic results.
• Manage domestic and international PGT-M and PGT-SR cases from enrollment through test completion, including genetic counseling consultations and preparation of enrollment summaries or consultation reports.
• Conduct clinical reviews of PGT-M sub-cycle orders to confirm that cases meet current clinical acceptance criteria.
• Provide clinical and technical support to internal teams, clients, clinics, patients, and external genetic counselors across laboratory operations.
• Help clinics and patients navigate PGT processes and provide guidance to the wider organization on clinical and operational questions.
• Contribute to departmental, product, quality, and process-improvement initiatives designed to strengthen genetic counseling and PGT services.
• Support post-launch data collection and analysis related to PGT products and services.
• Contribute to operational functions and quality initiatives supporting reproductive genetic counseling and fertility patient programs.
• Participate in genetic counseling meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives as directed.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage complex PGT case reports, sub-cycle reviews, laboratory investigations, and other challenging clinical scenarios.
• Complete required continuing education and maintain appropriate documentation of continuing education units (CEUs).
• Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders while communicating complex genetic information clearly and professionally.
• Support additional short-term projects that improve the effectiveness, quality, or capabilities of the genetic counseling function.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Human Genetics, Genetic Counseling, or an equivalent field from an institution accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC), or an internationally recognized equivalent.
• Current American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) board certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain genetic counseling licensure in the applicable U.S. states.
• At least 3 years of relevant genetic counseling experience, including a minimum of 1 year working in a laboratory setting.
• Strong practical knowledge of clinical, molecular, and population genetics, with the ability to apply this expertise to complex PGT cases.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently manage complicated clinical and laboratory scenarios.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail when reviewing genetic data, laboratory reports, and clinical documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinics, laboratory professionals, counselors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuing professional education and maintaining relevant board and licensing requirements.
• Ability to work for extended periods using computer equipment in a standard office environment.
• Willingness to undertake occasional domestic or international travel, generally less than 10%.
• Successful completion of applicable background screening, which may include verification of employment, education, driving records, and criminal history.
