Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in the Computer Information Systems Department at the Sylvania Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part‑time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part‑time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full‑term class assignments. Instructor Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or STEM‑related bachelor’s degree Four (4) years full‑time equivalent non‑teaching industry experience in the field. Related Instruction CIS 120, 121 and 122 include embedded related instruction in Computation. To teach these courses, the instructor must have completed college‑level algebra or higher math. Hourly rates are determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
